Financial Stewardship
FINANCIAL FREEDOM
Global Change Network, U.S.A. is committed to helping our members live abundantly in every area of their lives. Sometimes we are hampered in our ability to freely carry out the plans God has for us because we have not learned to handle our money God’s way. Using God’s principles, we want to present our readers with stewardship principles -- God’s foundational truth about how to handle money and possessions.
Each month, Chuck Wood, GCN, U.S.A. minister and coordinator for Crown Financial Ministries in the Denver area, will be our contributing editor for our “Financial Freedom” section.
This is the information excerpted from Chuck’s presentation to the membership at our May Roundtable Luncheon:
God's Word for a Tough Economy
by Crown Financial Ministries
These days some economic experts appear to have started believing financial concepts that sound vaguely familiar--perhaps even biblical.
Turbulent times call for God's stability, so I've put together a sampling of scriptures that are important for us if we're to survive economic hard times.
If you're a Christian and you haven't been following God's biblical financial principles, isn't it time that you did? After all, who will you believe, bankrupted businesses and folded financial institutions or God?
Today's economic climate makes it important for Christians to review and practice what God has been telling us all along. Hopefully, we'll believe him this time around.
So, fasten your
seatbelt and let's take a quick review of some important biblical principles.
How to Prosper in a Declining Economy
by Crown Financial Ministries
Newscasts report daily that our economy is on a downward trend. People are losing their homes, highly-paid executives are losing their positions and having to settle for lower-paying jobs, food and energy costs continue to increase, and the list goes on.
While these facts are true, what we are experiencing is not new. In Jeremiah 29, the “weeping prophet” predicted long-term captivity. Israel would endure 70 years of hard labor before they would be allowed to return to their homeland. Let’s all hope and pray that our current economic downturn won’t last that long!
Seven-Step Solution to the Economic Crisis
by Chuck Bentley, CEO, Crown Financial Ministries
In light of the massive amount of signs pointing to what some are calling the “economic crisis of a century,” an “economic Pearl Harbor,” or a “financial tsunami, including the collapse or near collapse of some of largest financial institutions in American history, I believe we all have reason now to ask: “What can I do to help solve this problem?” I for one believe it is time we stop looking to the federal government as the final solution and mobilize the grassroots of this nation to bring about the economic change that is desperately needed.
Here are the steps I believe will solve this crisis by each of us doing our part to fight this on a personal, local level.
